Welcome to my blog! I'm a first time blogger and amateur vegetable gardener living and working outside of Washington, DC in Annandale, VA. We are zone 7 as far as I can tell from the maps. I have always loved cooking and visiting the farmers market and road side stands in the spring, summer and fall. My Mother taught me to cook and appreciate all things from the garden and nature. I've been cooking since I was small enough that I needed a step stool to see the top of the counter. I've had container gardens on my deck and herbs but this year is my first foray into having a freestanding vegetable garden. I think they'll be the perfect size for a beginner, not too much space that I'll be over run but enough that I can experiment. I'm looking forward to sharing my success and learning opportunities/mistakes!
